Hong Kong Women's Representative Team is set to make its first appearance in the AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Tuesday. Hong Kong will face Nepal in Jar Stadium, Tashkent and kick-off time for the Group F affair is set for 18:00 (Hong Kong time).
Currently ranked 76th in world (FIFA World Ranking published on 20th August 2021), Hong Kong will enter the AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers with less than a full-strength squad. Skipper Chan Wing-sze, Cheung Wai-ki,Yiu Hei-man and Wai Yuen-ting will all be missing out through various reasons, significantly hampering the team’s overall strength.
Thankfully, Hong Kong still has many capable players within its ranks, starting with goalkeeper Ng Cheuk-wai and defender Ho Wan-tung. The former played for Taichung Blue Whale in Chinese Taipei last season, while the latter has been plying her trade with Scottish club Queen’s Park. In addition, Hong Kong’s backline also includes battle-tested veterans such as Kwok Ching-man, Chung Pui-ki, Wong So-han and Ma Chak-shun.
