Hong Kong: Yokohama F. Marinos lifted their first J1 League trophy since 2019 on Saturday by overcoming Vissel Kobe 3-1 while Kawasaki Frontale’s efforts to claim a hat-trick of league titles in Japan ended despite a victory as plenty was up for grabs on an exhilarating final matchday.

Meanwhile, the two-horse race for the league title in China PR continues to heat up as contenders Wuhan Three Towns and Shandong Taishan both posted resounding victories, leaving the duo tied on points at the top of the Chinese Super League.

Japan: Nail-biting title race ends in Marinos glory

Kevin Muscat’s Yokohama F. Marinos lifted the J1 League title with a 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe on the league’s closing day on Saturday – three years after fellow Australian and current Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou guided the side to their previous league title.
