Korea Republic women’s national team could not avoid defeat despite playing good football against powerhouse Australia, the host county of the Women’s Asian Cup finals next year.

Shin Sangwoo’s side lost 1-0 against the Matildas in a friendly staged at the Alliantz Stadium in Sydney, Australia on Friday. The visitors could not recover from the own goal that was forced by Emily van Egmond seven minutes into the second half, although they fought well to restore parity in the remaining time.
