Hong Kong Women's Representative Team squared off against Philippines in Jar Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Friday for a crunching battle in the AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers Group F. Hong Kong gave it everything that it had on the day but fell short against Philippines by 1:2. Hong Kong eventually wrapped up the AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers Group F fixtures with a record of one draw, one loss, one point from two games and failed to advance to the next round.
Philippines started the game strongly and kept Hong Kong under pressure pretty much from the get-go. On the 7th minute, Tahnai Annis picked up the ball through a teammate’s centering pass and pulled the trigger from inside the Hong Kong box. Unfortunately for Philippines, Annis’ shot failed to trouble Hong Kong goalkeeper Ng Cheuk-wai.
However, Philippines was not to be denied and duly took the lead on the 17th minute. Rocelle Mendano knocked a dangerous cross towards the middle. Tahnai Annis took up great position and sent the ball home through a diving header. Philippines drew first blood of the game. .....
