The East Asian Football Federation (EAFF), the host of the EAFF East Asian Cup 2013 and EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup 2013, announced the venues of the final competitions planned to be hosted in the Korea Republic from 20 – 28 July, 2013.
The venues for the two competitions are:
1. Seoul World Cup Stadium , Seoul
2. Hwaseong Stadium, Hwaseong
3. Jamsil Olympic Stadium, Seoul
The final competitions of both men’s and women’s will be held with the objective of developing football in the region by promoting an active interexchange within East Asia, strengthening unity and solidarity among its members and making contribution to peace through football.
Welcoming Australia, the winner of the men’s preliminary hosted in Hong Kong, last December as an invitational team to the competition, the EAFF East Asian Cup 2013 will be competed among the four football powerhouses in Asia, Korea Republic, Japan, China PR and Australia.
China PR, the winner of women’s preliminary held last November and the Asian powers from Korea Republic, DPR Korea and the defending champion of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World cup, Japan will compete in the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup 2013.
Mong Gyu Chung, the president of the EAFF and the Korea Football Association (KFA) said:
“It is great honor and pleasure for me, as President of the EAFF and the Korea Football Association, to welcome the teams, the East Asian football families and all football fans to my country on the occasion of the Final Competition for the EAFF East Asian Cup 2013 and the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup 2013.
I hope that the teams will compete with the spirit of Fair Play to further enhance unity and solidarity in the East Asian region and I sincerely wish that the teams, the officials and fans visiting the tournament will have a wonderful time, here in Seoul, Korea in July.”
